The cars of the Gumball 3000 rally head for Ibiza

Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi, McLaren, Porsche and Rolls Royce: as part of the Gumball 3000 rally some extremely exotic racing cars landed on the island.

The legendary high-end luxury car event took the racing drivers across the Mediterranean, with a 5,000 km route stretching from Mykonos in Greece, where the starting signal was given for participants from all over the world, to the finish line in Ibiza.

Hundreds of onlookers took the opportunity to see the majestic cars up close in the port of Ibiza Town. Here you could rub shoulders with the proud owners – mostly multimillionaires and celebrities who like luxury cars that have been pimped up to the limit.

The racing teams pay a starting fee of 30,000 to 40,000 euros each, although the legal situation of the event remains controversial. The Gumball 3000 Rally has little to do with a classic rally and many consider it an illegal street race.
