Hyatt secures seven hotels in Ibiza: Purchase agreement for a total of 2.7 billion dollars

Several hotels in Ibiza are for sale. Multinational chains and hotel groups go on the hunt for bargains to secure the best pieces.

The American hotel chain Hyatt is also participating and has secured seven new properties on the island, including the Alua Soul in Es Canar. The “Global Hyatt Corporation” comprised over 700 hotels and resorts in almost 60 countries in 2017. The group recently signed an agreement for $ 2.7 billion to purchase Apple Leisure Group (ALG), a North American tourism giant in the hands of KKR and KSL Capital Partners.

The operation includes the acquisition of various luxury brands by Hyatt, including the Alua Hotels & Resorts chain in Ibiza, which includes the Galeón Hotel, the Cartago and the recently opened Siau Ibiza Hotel in Port de Sant Miquel, as well as the Alua Miami, Alua Sun and the Alua Hawaii in San Antonio, previously managed by ALG.

The luxury resort “7Pines” in the south of the island and the Hotel Aguas de Ibiza Grand Luxe in Santa Eulalia have been associated with the “Hyatt Hotels Corporation” for a while, as has the Torre del Canónigo.

With this investment, Hyatt strengthens its leading position in the luxury all-inclusive segment.
